Tuesday morning I woke up to a very swollen gland in the right side of my throat. I felt fine, but it was all swollen and tender to the touch. Over the course of the day, my throat was a tiny bit sore and I had a small headache, but they were easily taken care of with Advil.
Wednesday morning I woke up feeling horrible - sore throat, headache, sore, still swollen gland. I called in sick to work. I stayed in bed most of the day, watching TV and resting.
Thursday morning I woke up feeling even worse than I did on Wednesday. I went to work anyway, and made an appointment with the doctor for that afternoon. I made it through the day (grateful for Advil and for the fact that I sit at a desk all day), and went to my appointment in the afternoon. They did a strep test, which didn't show strep, but my tonsils are "nasty looking" according to the doctor, complete with pustules. So she decided to treat me for strep even without sending a culture out for further testing. I picked up my prescription on the way home, and have now taken two doses of antibiotics. I'm hoping to feel better soon, but right now my throat still hurts quite bit when I swallow - I haven't even eaten breakfast yet, because I'm a little afraid of how much my wheat cereal is going to hurt when I try to swallow it.
I hate being sick. :(

Ick! Feel better! Make J bring you chicken soup!
Thanks! And actually, I think I'm leaning more towards ice cream. :D
I think ice cream is in order for all the grief you've had lately! I hope you get better soon!
Thanks!
Hope you are feeling better. And if ice cream works for you . . .
(I prefer to stay warm and would have the soup.)
Thanks Sally! Mostly I'm just easily tired now, and the time change isn't helping. :D My throat still hurts a bit, and my glands are still swollen, though. I can't wait to feel healthy again.
Sorry your Schmonsils are being mean to you! (and sorry it took me like 3 days to see you updated. i suck)
It's okay, and thanks, and no, you don't suck. :)
