Thanksgiving Weekend

There are boxes of decorations all over the living room. The table is covered in papers and junk. The floor hasn't been vacuumed, so there are hair balls everywhere. The futon needs a clean sheet to cover it.

And I am very happy, becuase J has been home with me since yesterday morning. This is the longest I've been with him in weeks.

He's off getting us lunch right now, and I'm sitting here waiting for him. I've mixed up some sugar cookie dough (from Sarah's Mom's recipe), and now it's chilling in the fridge for three hours. Later this afternoon I'll roll it out, cut out cookies using the new cutters we got yesterday, and bake them. Then I'll make some frosting (because I don't have any canned frosting), frost them, and decorate them, and J and I will have Christmas cookies. And yeah, it's still November, but Thanksgiving is over, so it's okay.

Oh, and we're decorating for Christmas, and putting up the tree this afternoon.

I like today a lot. I liked yesterday a lot. It's been a good weekend so far.

Those cookies were great, too! Well, are. We haven't eaten them all yet. :)
