Well, my birthday is about over for this year. I had a great day, too. I spent a lot of time relaxing, but I got some stuff done around the house, too, so I wasn't a total slug. I had an ice cream sundae for lunch, which is really the best kind of lunch to have on your birthday. I went to my sister's house and had my boiled dinner, which was yummy, and chocolate cake with boiled frosting, which was also yummy, and that combined with the sundae left me feeling absolutely stuffed. Oh man. I came home and put my pjs on so fast! My belly was way too full for jeans.
And of course I got a gift. I got a bouquet of very pretty flowers (I love flowers, and almost never get them, so they're very special to me when I do), and I got a sisters thing which is very cool - it's two figurines carved out of willow wood, and their hands connect. It's very nice.
I came back home an hour and a half or so ago, and my phone rang, and the birthday surprises kept coming, because it was my brother! This was the brother who lives in Virginia, who is closest to me in age than anyone else. I don't hear from him much - he has mostly seemed to like to pretend he doesn't have any family at all. But he called me today, and he sent me a card with pictures of his kids, and he even told me he loved me! The world may be ending anytime now, because those three things have to be a sign of that. It was a very nice surprise, though.
And now the day is almost over, and I'm relaxing for a while before bedtime. I love birthdays - they're usually a great day, and this one was no exception. I also got to chat with Sally for a while today, and she sent me a gift card for amazon.com, which I already used, so I'll be getting a package in the mail sometime soon, and really? That just means the birthday fun will last that much longer. So it's cool. And now I have to go relax. Good night!
