Christmas Shopping

I had to go to the campus store for something work related today, and while I was there, I did a little shopping. :) I got all of the stuff for my Secret Santa except for one day's gift, but I'm just going to get her a candy bar, and can pick that up this weekend. I also got some stocking stuffers for J. Yay! I love buying Christmas presents. These are just little things, but he'll like them, and they're not candy, which is good. Last year we had just been going out for a couple of months when Christmas came around, so when we did stockings for each other, they were just filled with candy, since we didn't really know what the other person liked. This year I was able to buy him other stuff, which feels nice.

Of course, this whole holiday feels different this year. Our relationship last year was so new, and still rather fragile. Now it's more solid, and we've been together a whole year longer. We know each other way better, we love each other way more. Our holiday decorations are mixing together, and it all feels more special. But I already wrote about that the other day, so I'll stop.

Tonight I am going to my sister's house for dinner, which I'm looking forward to. I didn't go last week because of my toothache, and next week I won't be able to go because I'll be having my root canal, and the week after that is Christmas. So this is the last regular Monday night dinner until after the New Year.

I'm not sure what J and I are doing for the holiday as far as going to our families' houses is concerned. I think we're going to try to split the day, spending half at each place. Which seems like a good compromise. It'll be a busy day, but a good one.

I'm really looking forward to the holiday, too. I have a few more presents to buy, and then I'll be done shopping. I'm not getting anyone very much this year, because I'm kind of broke, but what I'm buying is all good stuff that I think they'll really like, so it's still good. It's going to be a good Christmas.
