Today J and I finally got around to decorating our tree. I had my box of ornaments, and he had his. This is our first year of living together for Christmas, so it's the first time our Christmas memories have mixed together on the tree. I pulled out an ornament that was my Mom's, he pulled out an ornament that has been in his family since he was one or two years old. His Peter Griffin mixed with my Frosty the Snowman, his Simpsons mixed with my Santa Clauses. And best of all, my Flounder from The Little Mermaid was joined by his Sebastian from the same movie. I have to admit, I got a little mushy - I had to go give him a hug in the middle of decorating.
And that was the big tree in the living room. We followed that up with the little tree in our bedroom. There were the ornaments we bought each other last year - his marshmallows (one me, one him) with the date on it, that he gave me, my Christmas tree that says our first Christmas, that I gave to him. And there are a couple of Grinch ornaments and a couple of bells (everytime a bell rings, an angel gets its wings!), and some precious ones from our past that we don't want to risk in a room where four dogs and five cats roam at all times of the day. The one my Mom gave me when I was in my 20s, the ones his parents gave to him.
Our Christmas ornaments and decorations are mixing together for the first time, and I have to say that I love every bit of it. Christmas has finally come to our house. It's fantastic.

Yay Christmas!
We went ahead and put up our mini tree in the bedroom again this year. It's one of my favorite things during the holidays!
