I somehow lucked into getting a 10:30 dentist appointment this morning, so I left work at 10:00 and headed out. I drove through the snow and general winter crap, and got there just before 10:30. I had my cleaning, and was told that my teeth were very clean considering they hadn't been cleaned professionally since 2003, which made me happy. Of course, I have to work on flossing more, but the brushing is good. Once the dental hygienist was done torturing me with the x-ray plates and her little pick thing, the dentist came in, and long story short - I have to have a root canal.
Yuck.
I've never had a root canal before, so I'm not looking forward to this at all, but if it means I'll be able to get rid of this pain and eventually chew on the right side of my mouth again, then I'm happy with it. Assuming they're happy with payments, of course - the insurance only covers about half. Sigh. But I look forward to not having pain, and to being able to chew on that side of my mouth again, for the first time in something like five years, so whatever. Bring on the root canal. I'm ready.
Stupid tooth.
And in the meantime, I got a prescription for antibiotics, which should help the pain go away as they clear up whatever infection is in there, and a second prescription for Tylenol with Codeine. Which I've never had to take before, so I don't know what they'll do to me, other than take the pain away, but it can't hurt to have them in the house, even if I don't take them for this. Right? Right.
Less noise, more me
