Codeine Makes Me zzzzzzz

Well, I had my first experience with Tylenol with Codeine last night. I was in so much pain when I got home from work that I took one right after I got home. About an hour later, it didn't seem to be working very well, so I took another one. Within an hour of that time, I was almost falling asleep in my seat. Zzzzzz. Those things knock you out! I went to bed at 8:42 and slept until 6:40 this morning, with only a little interruption when J left for work at 3:00 (and gave me another one of those pills before he left, because my tooth was hurting so much again) and then an hour later while I waited for him to call to let me know that he made it to work okay (it was very snowy and messy out last night). Otherwise, though, I slept like a rock all night.

This morning I got up feeling okay, because the pill from 3:00 was still working, but by the time I got to work, I felt like crap again. My tooth was hurting, my head was hurting and I was nauseous. Yuck. I don't dare take the Tylenol with Codeine at work, so I popped three Advil, and a couple of hours later, I'm feeling much better. I don't expect it to last, but I'll take it while I have it.

I tell you what, though, if I had any extra vacation time coming to me, I would so have called in sick today. Laying in bed with the dogs around me and the TV on all day sounded SO appealing. Sigh. But I need all of the time I have coming for Christmas week, so no day off for me. But that's fine. I'll sit here and suffer and get paid for it. Of course, that's easy to say now that I'm feeling okay. :) My tune will change when I'm feeling crappy again, because the Advil has worn off and I'm feeling sick to my stomach again.
