How have I never watched A Christmas Story before? Seriously, it was made in 1983, when I was 13 - I should have grown up watching it. It's played all day at Christmas on TBS or one of those stations, and all I ever did was see parts of it. But, Sarah lent me a copy of it on Friday, and I just finished watching it. I now understand the genius that is this movie. As quoted by Sarah and Jamie at work, "meatloaf, schmeatloaf, double beetloaf, I hate meatloaf." But I love this movie. I'll be owning a copy of it before next Christmas, guaranteed.
Also, the kid who played Flick looked familiar to me, so I looked him up on imdb, and found out that I recognized him from Toy Story. I also found out, however, that after these two family movies, he grew up to have a future in porn! Ha! That sweet innocent kid, who got his tongue stuck to a pole in the movie, taking part in films such as Dirty Bob's Xcellent Adventures 35 and 36, The Wrong Snatch and, of course, you can't forget New Wave Hookers 5. Kudos, Flick! What an Xcellent career you have had! (And it brings a whole new meaning to his getting his tongue stuck to a pole, doesn't it? The mind, it goes to such dirty places.)
