Christmas Prep

I'm slipping in an entry all stealth like while J is putting garland on my tree. I'm sneaky like that. We've been decorating my house tonight. I have some pictures, but my tool bar that has the button for uploading pictures isn't here for some reason, so I might have to wait to post those tomorrow. But we've strung garland and white lights on my stairwell, put my small Christmas tree in my bedroom on top of my dresser, and have put up my Mom's old artificial tree in the living room, and put lights and a star on it. And now J's doing the silver garland. It looks really nice.

I also put out the Santa rug that my Mom made years ago, and the dogs have enjoyed laying on it already. This time of year brings out all the memories - Mom bought me this ornament, this oranament was my step-dad's, etc. Enough time has passed since Mom's death that I can look back on those memories and smile instead of being sad. It's a nice feeling.

Tomorrow we'll just have to hang all of the ornaments and put out my Christmas knick-knack type things, and my house will be ready for the holidays. I have gone quite a few years with almost no decorations at all, and that's making it feel really nice to have stuff up this year. I'm really in the holiday mood this year.

Tomorrow is also brunch with J's family. Dun dun dun. I'm sure it'll be okay, but I won't say I'm not stressing a little bit, because I am. I'll be glad when it's over.

And okay, he's about done with the garland, so that's all for now. I'll put some pictures up tomorrow, if I can figure out how to now that the dashboard on blogger has changed. I hope you are all having a great Saturday evening!

Welcome to the club of those with christmas trees in their bedrooms! Isn't it lovely? I know I'm really enjoying having one!

By the way, good work on updating with J there. You need wi fi at your place so that you can update wherever. :)

Totally good suggestion. Then you could be all in the bathroom copying Ralphie from a Christmas Story! "In a Minute DUDE!" with J outside the door yelling, "But I gotta go!!!"

Wi fi would be nice, that is correct. And Sarah? You crack me up!

Thanks for the idea of the Christmas tree in the bedroom, Cathy. It's really nice having it in there! I don't know why I never thought of doing that. :)
