Frankness

When I was PMSing last week, I had to write a five page final paper for my web publishing class. The last section of the paper was supposed to be grading the members of my group on their participation in the group project. I said I was PMSing, right? So I kind of went on and on for about two pages on why our group sucked, which it did, and most of my criticism was directed at the male member of our group, who decided that he was the only one who knew anything about designing and coding web pages, and he scrapped ours and made some of his own (which were fine, but didn't really use what we had learned in class and which didn't fit what the client wanted). I didn't say anything to him at the time, simply because of the time limit involved - we had less than a semester to create a new web page for this business - but I certainly didn't hold back in the paper.

And then I felt bad about it, and when the professor e-mailed us all and asked for a soft copy of our reports, I asked him if the comments were confidential and said I wasn't sure if I should have said anything.

But, I think what PMS does for me is just makes me not care enough about saving people's feelings to stop me from saying what I think, and the professor thanked me for my frankness, so there you go. PMS frankness - good or bad, you decide.

Today was another busy ass day. I'm going to be so glad when these kids are finally gone for the semester (which they mostly should be by the end of the day tomorrow). And the sad thing is, even though we've been this busy now, this is nothing compared to what it will be like at the end of the spring semester. On days like this, it's a good thing I like my job. Mostly.

Also, there was some workplace drama going on in the background today. I heard some details, enough to know it wasn't about me (whew) and to feel enough in the know to be able to sit and feel all amused at what was going on. No details listed, sorry - if anyone at work ever finds this (other than Sarah and Jamie), I want to still be employed after they read it. Hi people at work! I love my job! Yes I do!

Okay, I've written enough for today, and so I will end it here. After I say that I finally got the necklace I ordered for my sister, and it is lovely! I think she will love it. Woo! Giving great gifts rules.
